02. Who Are We?

Team KANSEI started out collectively in the year 2006 and featured a bunch of Malaysian driver who stand proud on local mountain passes. From engineers, website developer to designers and IT specialist, they all has gathered to form KANSEI and share the love towards one things called ‘touge’. The main purposed of KANSEI was no other than to makes new friends who shared the same interest as us while in the same time try to develop our very own driving skills and techniques. Most of the drivers in KANSEI didn’t own big and powerful cars. We didn’t have any member with turbo’s or supercharged cars so far in the team and currently ’stuck’ with NA (Natural Aspirated) engine based setup. Not to say that we don’t dream to own big and powerful cars, only that we’re still cannot afford it.

Even though KANSEIis a newly born touge team, it can be said that most of the team members have a wide experienced in driving on touge, downhill and uphill. Not to mentioned, we do have lots of accident and crash experienced. From hitting the guardrails and walls on the touge to even jumped off the cliff at hundred feet heights. We’ve encountered with understeer and oversteer situation thousand of time and this is when we wanted to share our little knowledge with a hunger to learn new things from you guys out there. Some of the members in KANSEI also has a few years experience in other underground world of touge racing worldwide such as Japan, UK and some other place beside Malaysia very own playground.

We have recieved lots of emails and questionaire asking us on ‘how to join KANSEI?’ To tell you guys the truth, we’re kind of open people here and we accept anyone to join us at anytime. (Please read the Q&A section we’ve provided down below - before posting a new one). We didn’t care what kind of cars you drive. Name it from stock Perodua Kancil or Kelisa to a most powerfull Skyline’s GTR or namely from a normally aspirated AE86 or a twin turbo 13B equipped FD3S to a fully tuned S2000 Honda, we’re still aiming towards friendships no matter what. What we really care is that everyone’s safety during touge run especially a run that involve KANSEI team members.

Q&A
Here are some of the common question that has been flooded our mail box since last year. So we have come in conclusion to come up with this section so that no more same question being fowarded to us thousand of times.

How to become KANSEI team members i.e to join in the team and be part of the team?
Please kindly send an email to us regarding that. Don’t forget to tell us a brief about your self with details on your NAME, LOCATION, AGE, CAR MODEL that you drive and your PHONE NUMBER. We will contact you as soon as we get our hands on it.

I have another car team, can I put KANSEI logo on our website or blog?
Yes you can. Go ahead and abuse it… But of course please do it in a good and nice way.

Can I do an interview session with any of KANSEI members?
Yes you can. Please send us the details and questions to teamkansei@gmail.com or you can contact us to arrange a live interview session.

I have a few touge enthusiast friends. Can we go and play in Kuala Kelawang touge? We think we should ask your permission first since you has claim that is your home course.
What’s in your head? We didn’t own that road and we’re definitely not the one who build that road. Go ahead and enjoy it! Just be more carefull while driving up there as there’s too many landslides happen with blind hairpin corners that contains some old folk ghost stories, we don’t think you should go and drive alone. So invite all of your friends or just invite us! We’re not claiming that is our home course, it just that we have very much ‘in-tune’ feeling with that place and since it is kinda out of town and can be called deserted place with no one had any intentions to play there, we take that place seriously!
